Dow's biggest intraday drop ever

Have you seen film The Net? Not? And the stock news today?

The first news said, that the Dow index fell due to wrong reports from Greece. However the CNBC claims that a trader in Citibank mistyped million to billion, so he sold 1000-times more shares. The result was that the Dow index fell to 992.6.

Other news claimed, that it is only a system error of trading system, because the market makers simply became hidden.

In my opinion, it could have been an aimed attack to the trading system like in film The Net. We can only hope, that Sandra Bullock comes and she saves our money :) .

That was a day on stock markets on May 6,2010 , which wasn't really calm :) .
